Crossroads jewelry joins together stories of friendship, passion for design, and world travel. In 1999 Dmitri Robbins and Marpa Eager founded Crossroads with a commitment to bringing handcrafted jewelry to specialty boutiques. Inspired by the beauty of the glass art friends were creating in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, Dmitri and Marpa traveled the globe, meeting designers and artisans, creating an exciting new jewelry collection.
In 2001, while discussing marketing strategies with co-owners of rising tide Pete Sylvan and Jeff Shotland (who Marpa had been partners with years earlier), the two teams decided to join forces. Peter and Jeff, similarly to Marpa and Dmitri, are lifelong friends who together formed Rising Tide in 1990. Combining the strong business backbone and infrastructure of Rising Tide with the creative and marketing talents of Crossroads has led to the exciting strength, growth, and success of the company.
Crossroads has evolved significantly since then, seeking out and adding new lines of contemporary and artful jewelry from designers around the world. The line includes work from artisans in Mexico and Thailand, as well as Western Massachusetts, and New York City. Crossroads is sold in women’s apparel stores, gift stores, galleries, boutiques, and better department stores throughout the United States. Since its inception Crossroads has grown substantially, and is currently poised to enter the European market.
About the founders:
Dmitri Robbins: Dmitri has traveled widely, and has lived and worked in Japan, France and Turkey. He is a member of the founding team of a marketing company in New York City, and has a background in sales, marketing, and teaching. Dmitri lives in Northampton, Massachusetts with his wife.
Marpa Eager: A trained mediator, former co-director of a residential craft school, former partner of rising tide ltd, a member of the founding team of a marketing company in New York City, Marpa lives in Manhattan with his wife, daughter, and two Siamese cats.
Jeff Shotland: Co-founder of Rising Tide, Jeff lives in Western Massachusetts with his wife and two sons.
Peter Sylvan: Co-founder of Rising Tide, Pete lives in Western Mass with his wife, two children, and a small menagerie of pets.
